Emergency stop¶
The mushroom head on the outside of the enclosure is the only thing on the whole set you can click.
The head sinks in.
- Fuel is cut instantly: no cooldown, no sequence
- The breaker trips
- The engine coasts to a stop
- The fault latches
The screen goes to EMERGENCY STOP in blinking reverse video and the red lamp flashes.
The head twists back out and springs out, and the latched shutdown clears once the engine has actually come to rest.
If you release it while the set is still coasting down, the reset waits until it stops. It will not clear mid-spin.
You can also trip and release it in script with the E Stop value, which reads back the button's real position either way.
Two things worth knowing¶
These behave the way the real thing does.
Reset is refused while the button is still in
Releasing comes first, always.
It bypasses the cooldown entirely
That is the point of an emergency stop, but it means using it routinely instead of a normal stop is hard on the set.
Clearing over the values bus instead¶
If you would rather clear the fault over the values bus instead of by releasing the button, turn off EStop.ResetOnRelease in the config and use Stoped = true.
